On my computer i use Bandwidth which works very well. Sometimes my laptop doesnt work very well, i have to go on to apple and download quicktime. I use wi-fi once in a while. Ive used the method of "compression" before when i was doing a project.
My bestfriends boyfriend works at bestbuy and is part of the "geek squad, so he knows how to do all that computer stuff. Once when there was something wrong with my laptop he showed me "codec" which is a specilazed computer program tht reduced the number of bytes consumed by large files and programs. An AIFF is also something he is familar with when having to work with audio files.
When my friend was working on the computer she showed me how to use "Mp3" to compress sound into a tiny file. A Web 2.0 is something i have heard about when having to do with blogs. User interface is something that i like very much and it easy to use.

Hypercities.com: A geo-temporal platform developed with Google.

Hypercities is a very interesting and helpful website. I never heard of hypercities before i was told to this assignment.

- "Rather than surfing the web, going from site to site, portal to portal, what if you could surf a city, browse its streets, get lost in its buildings, meet friends and strangers in a hyperlinked world, go back in time, and reemerge in another city? "

" On the Media" WNYC. "Digital killed the analog star"

In this radio chat two women are talking how how there was supposed to be a switch from anolog broadcast to digital. Congress and the FCC have been talking about a change since 1996 !The change was signed three years ago and the people werent ready to switch. Congress postponed the deadline from this tuesday to june 12th. People didnt want to switch to digital broadcast and turn off their analog signals. Therefore People woke up to black tvs. It is a plan to change into digital reception so people dont have to rely on the "rabbit ears" ( antennas). Some stations will use the extended June deadline. Elderly viewers, non -english speakers and lowincome people are most effected. Digital reception most people get through cable or satelite receivers.

THE NEW YORK TiMES BLOGS- FASHION AND STYLE "ON THE RUNWAY" by: Cathy Horyn

I read through the blogs on the New York times website. A couple of them caught my eye. The one that most interested me the most was the one on fashion of course. It was by Cathy Horyn and she had a whole section on fashion.

NEW MEDIA & COMPUTERS

New Media has to do with digital and computer technology. New Media is associated with computer technology, the arts, music, politics, educational issues and many more. Computers have come a long way in a short period of time. Computers used to be a luxury but they are not anymore they are now an every day tool. Young children are now operating them, and even older people. It is educational and a work horse for people. Every business uses them for work purposes and is very handy. Without the computer so much stuff wouldnt be done. When computers first came out they werent so hightech and they were smaller. They now have flat screens and laptops. Because everything is changing so rapidly and New Media has had such a big impact computers can now be held in the palm of your hand. Some cell phones can do exactly what computers do , and you dont need to be home on your computer to get your work done !
